Mike Lewis is Emeritus Professor at Cardiff University.  He has held a number of senior professional positions including: President of the British Society for Oral Medicine, President of the British Society for Oral & Dental Research, Dean of the Dental Faculty of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow, Dean of the School Dentistry at Cardiff University, Dental Member of the Department of Health Specialist Advisory Committee on Antimicrobial Resistance and Hospital Acquired Infection and Dental Member of the Advisory Council for Misuse of Drugs at the Home Office. Â
Academically, Professor Lewis has published over 200 scientific articles and delivered more than 700 invited lectures worldwide.  He is the author of best-selling textbooks on the subjects of Oral Medicine and Oral Microbiology.  He is a Registrant Member of the General Dental Council and was recently awarded the John Tomes Medal by the British Dental Association for outstanding service to the dental profession.  Â
Prof. Giovanni Lodi

Giovanni Lodi is a Professor of Biomedical, Surgical and Dental Sciences at the Università degli Studi di Milano. He qualified in Dentistry at the Università degli Studi di Milano and obtained his PhD from the University of London, following which he began working for the oral medicine service of the dental clinic of the University Hospital of Milano.
Professor Lodi has published around 200 works in the field of oral medicine, evidence-based dentistry and special needs. He is currently an honorary senior lecturer of the Department of Oral Medicine - Eastman Dental Institute-UCL London; Member of the Steering Committee of the World Workshop on Oral Medicine; Editor in Chief of the Italian dental journal, Dental Cadmos; Editor in Chief of Oral Diseases, the International leading journal in oral medicine; and Head of the hospital unit of Odontostomatologia 2, Milano.Â
Dr Gitana Rederiene
President, European Dental Hygienists Federation, Dental Hygienist, President, Lithuanian Dental Hygienists Association
Dr Gitana Rederiene completed her Dental Hygiene and Public Health studies at Lithuanian Health Science University in Kaunas and carried out her doctoral thesis at Vilnius University Medical Faculty. Her main research topic is the empowerment of the professional group of dental hygienists and clarifying their role in shaping the oral health policy.
Gitana has presented numerous poster presentations at various international conferences and is an author of scientific and popular articles. She is a practising dental hygienist at the University clinic and regularly holds courses and lectures for continuing education on various topics nationally and internationally. Dr Gitana Rederiene is a member of the European Association of Dental Public Health, as well as a member of the Advisory Board at the European Forum for Primary Care. She is a board member of the Odontology faculty of Lithuanian Health Science University and a consultant for a few dental hygiene programs in Lithuania.
Dr Gitana Rederiene is a President of the European Dental Hygienists Federation and President of the Lithuanian Dental Hygienists Association.
Dr Martina Violati
Medical Oncologist, Department of Medical Oncology, ASST Santi Paolo e Carlo - Ospedale San Paolo
Dr Martina Violati is a medical oncologist at Santi Paolo and Carlo Hospital in Milan, specializing in head and neck, and skin cancer. Dr Violati is currently the professional reference for these tumours for both San Carlo and San Paolo Hospitals and she is the multi-disciplinary group coordinator.
Concerning Dr Violati's involvement in clinical research, she had been the Principal Investigator for several published head and neck studies; her investigations focusing on identifying new strategies in the treatment and assessment of biomolecular patterns for this kind of cancer.
